I collect music albums, a peek into the past. For Christmas, I received a 1960 album, Connie Francis sings Spanish and Latin American Favorites for MGM. The thick well-made album is stamped “Made in the USA.” She sings so beautifully.

In albums, our history, culture, and issues of the times are captured by artists wishing to make a statement in musical expression. Listening to an album from an earlier era is like a quick visit to a museum and a concert, all in one.

This album is an excellent reminder that some issues we see today have been around and part of our United States history for over 65 years.
