I research companies before I apply for jobs.  What is the corporate culture like?  What do people say about this company?  Google companies like people. Follow them on Twitter and LinkedIn. See what they are all about. I use GlassDoor.com as one of my culture tools.

Once I obtain interviews I do the same thing with every person I am scheduled to speak with. Knowing your future workplace is the key to finding collaborative teams that see men and women as equals.

Ask others including friends and family. I have an extensive LinkedIn network of supportive people I have worked with in the past. I don’t hesitate to reach out via e-mail or message to ask what they think honestly of XYZ company.
